Business Analyst

We seek result-oriented individual with proven effective communication skills, analytical thinking who drives business for excellence and quality whilst acting as an intermediary between finance and customer teams to meet organizational objectives.

 

Primary responsibilities

Forecast and analyze business trends in terms of customer, manufacturer and product category for each SBU 'Strategic Business Unit'

Active participation in monthly/ quarterly business review meetings

Analysis and close monitoring of KPIs 'Key Performance Indicators'

Follow up web costings and material pricing whilst assisting management to initiate focused projects and recommend areas to improve in future

Implement cost saving initiatives to cut down operating expenditure

Involve in the overall process improvements of the function

Follow up sales made to third party and account related income or expense to relevant department while supporting financial accounting team with month end journal entry postings

Perform additional duties assigned, as and when requested by the management

 

Qualification & Experience:

Full/ Part qualified in CIMA/ A relevant degree would be an added advantage

Minimum 2 years of professional experience in Finance with knowledge of reporting and project handling preferably in apparel sector

Excellent working knowledge in Ms. Excel including macros, pivot and BI tools etc.

Prior experience in SAP will be a distinct advantage

Excellent analytical thinking, data collection, problem structuring and problem solving skills

Ability to prioritize the tasks to meet deadlines whilst building strong and trustworthy relationships with all stakeholder’s under highly collaborative work environment

Senior Designer/Product Developer

Key Responsibilities:

Design/Trend/Product Development

  • Pro actively keeping up to date with latest trends - silhouette, colour messages, fabrics, graphics and techniques and able to communicate ideas to customers regularly in the form of trend boards, fabric and trim presentations, concept cads and samples.
  • Support UK based design team and global customers to understand Sri Lanka factory/supply capability and hand writing.
  • Potential candidates should have established relationships with 3rd party suppliers in Sri Lanka, including fabric mills and Washing/print and embroidery plants.
  • Seasonal customer and shopping inspiration trips both in the UK and further afield covering the latest trends and innovations around the world.
  • Use of trend research to design and develop our own new and exciting product commercial for our customers.
  • A strong, trend driven, graphics handwriting is important.
  • Able to work proactively from own ideas & research; and from direct briefs from our customer buyers and designers.
  • Confident to design garments and graphics across a wide range of babywear, childrenswear and adult wear departments – mainly focused on Girlswear and Womenswear.
  • Strong, technical understanding to create Technical Design packs to communicate sampling requirements which sampling rooms can interpret to sampling effectively.
  • Understanding and awareness of fabric sourcing/development eg: appropriate fabrications/price and technical limitations and requirements/lead times for best design.
  • Awareness of full garment development process from yarn and fabric through to garment finishing.

 

Sound knowledge of processes involved eg: print, embroidery, wash processes is essential.

 

Communication and Marketing

  • Confident to welcome and present to buyers and designers on a regular basis and able to represent Nor Lanka professionally.
  • Excellent communication skills required, both written and verbal.
  • Able to professionally present and market/”sell” samples, design concepts and presentations.
  • Able to create and present inspirational and focused development showrooms/presentations to facilitate retailer buying and design visits – giving the customer all the tools and support they need to develop their own ranges with us.

Professionalism and Flexibility

  • Flexible approach and ‘can do, will do’ attitude.
  • Self-motivated and able to work pro-actively and independently.

           Key Requirements

  • 3-5 Years’ Experience in a similar capacity
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design
  • Fluent in adobe creative suite – illustrator, photoshop and ideally in design.
  • Previous experience of childrenswear design is preferred.
  • Strong portfolio and experience of multi product 'woven and jersey'.
  • Existing relationships with local suppliers – mills/wash/print/embroidery plants.
  • Specific experience of working with Sri Lankan factories within a buying office environment.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of our key customers.
  • Existing, direct relationships with customers is an advantage.
  • An excellent team player but ability to be self-motivated and work independently.
  • Excellent time management, and able to work to tight deadlines, be organised, but also able to work with adhoc/urgent requests.
  • Excellent and confident communication skills; written and verbal for effective communication with local team and customers overseas.
